Jim graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in communication studies. In the interim between college and working in Financial Services, he was a professional baseball pitcher for 14 years; a nomadic career that landed him to live and play in seven different countries.
Currently Jim works closely with the Select Service Team to address the needs of the Iowa City area clients and particularly enjoys providing guidance and support to help his clients make informed decisions. Jim started in the Financial Services industry in 2016 when he joined MidWestOne Investment Services. Jim joined Nicolet Wealth Management in April 2026 in connection with Nicolet Bank's acquisition of MidWestOne Bank. He holds his Series 6 and 63 Securities Registrations through Private Client Services, LLC, as well as Series 65.
Jim enjoys time with his wife, Laura, and their son, Jack- whether it’s catching a game, coaching on the ballfield, or enjoying music together. He also claims hobbies such as woodworking, mountain biking, paddleboarding and playing guitar, though those claims tend to look better on paper than in practice.

Past market activity is not indicative of future results, and changes in any assumptions may have a material effect on projected outcomes. Investing in securities entails risk, and the potential for losing money always exists when investing in securities. Asset allocation, rebalancing, and asset diversification will not ensure account protection in a declining market, and cannot be relied upon to enhance gains in a rising market.
